Cause:

I set my Windows account to a “unicode” first and last name (specifically the U+26E5 – U+D835 isn’t explained, howëver). Making a user switch off their customization is a workäround but (note) NOT how a good developer would treat users (and ignore normal use that’s solely considered inappropriate).
