Manager, Product Management

I have purchased a license for this application, however following payment I did not receive an activation key. Where do I locate the activation key? If it is sent by email how long must I wait?

I apologize for the waiting, but orders are processed manually. So it takes usually approximately 10 hours to delivery the activation key. On page http://www.softwareideas.net/en/purchase is mentioned that the activation key will be sent within 2 working days, which is the maximum. If it would take longer, I'll refund the paid money.

Pan functionality?

Hello,

I must tell you that i am very pleased with this software:) I use it mainly for the gui sketches, however, what i miss the most is pan functionality. I would love to have the ability to move the screen with mouse+ctrl, just as it is preview window. Maybe you could include it in the coming release? :)

Hello,

I am glad that you like the program.

This feature is yet available, but with another mouse-key combination. You can move the screen using ALT+right mouse button.

The entity relationship model diagram could use an overhaul: relations ( diamond ), forced participation ( double line ) attributes ( ellipse ) weak entity / relation ( double border )

& then there´s the EER model ;)

Some small suggestions

Let me just start by saying that SIM are a really great tool. Thanks!

Some small suggestions:

• When tabbing between fields in Diagram properties they arent in the visual order

• When pushing Alt to gain access to the Menu shortcommands both "Edit" and "Element" have "E" as the highlighted character

• Would be good if the author somehow would be automatically filled in when starting a new diagram. Maybe taken from a global authorfield?

• In a UML Component diagram, isnt it corrent to use a Node there? In that case it should be added to the toolbox for that diagram.

Thank you for your positive comment and useful suggestions. I'll certainly implement them - the most of them in the next release.

According UML 2.x specification, in Component diagram there isn't available Node element. It is part of Deployment diagram. However, you can use a small trick in SIM. Create a Deployment diagram, insert a Node element. You can copy it and paste into the Component diagram.

The web page said the product works on Linux platform, but when I download it, the package is a window one with DLL. Is there a one for Linux version and where can I download it? Or if it is not available yet?

Software Ideas Modeler is implemented on .NET Framework. There is a Linux project Mono, which is the counterpart of .NET in Linux. It allows run .NET projects on Linux.

When I followed the instructions and did the instruction, I could create the model, and diagram, which is great,

but when I tried to generate the document, I got the error:

It seems that the used PDF library uses some specific Windows API functions. I'll try to improve it in one of next versions - it will be not sooner that in version 5. Although I try to improve the compatibility with Linux, unfortunately, still not all functions works well on this platform.

Export to PDF as vector

Hi,

Have you considered such feature? Now, it's only raster image, which looks bad when zoomed. It would be great to have vector PDF. Now, to achieve this, I have to export my graph into SVG format and convert it to PDF. This is a little bit troublesome.

But anyway, your tool is absolutely amazing, many thanks for maintaining it!

PDF export in version 3.x used vector graphics, but sometimes it generated not very precise results, therefore I changed it to raster. In one of next releases I can add the option whether to export to raster or to vector. I hope I will improve also the precision of PDF vector export.

Ahoj Dušan,

your soft is the best UML tool for me!

But I still cannot resize labels (for instance in Sequence Diagram) when too long text is cut off at the edge of the label tab. Instead it moves the whole label as is. I saw another comment in Feb 2011 and an answer from you saying it was fixed in version 4.91... but I'm using version 4.95 (on Win7 x64 Home French).
